Use the examples below to practice the stroke order for the new characters. For each character, write the character repeatedly until you complete an entire row on your sheet of paper before moving onto the next character. As you write, pronounce the character out loud so that you associate the stroke order with the sound.
ya や
yu ゆ
yo よ
wa わ
wo を
n ん
Just like our previous lessons, we will write each character in sequential order. Because this lesson has six characters instead of our stand five, you may decide to write each character a few extra times.
Flashcards
Create your flashcards for や ゆ よ わ を ん. You should now be testing yourself on 46 characters:
あ い う え お
か き く け こ
さ し す せ そ
た ち つ て と
な に ぬ ね の
ま み む め も
は ひ ふ へ ほ
ら り る れ ろ
や ゆ よ
わ を
ん
Test yourself on writing the Hiragana characters with the romaji side of the flashcards face up. Shuffle and repeat this until you can successfully write all the characters without referring to learning material for 3 rounds.
Great job! Head on over to the next lesson: go が gi ぎ gu ぐ ge げ go ご
